With hardwood (oak) stripes. Oaken stripes (on one side) not only makes the heddle much stronger but it is nice decoration as well.

Dimensions of the heddle:

Frame is ~22 cm long ; by ~16 cm wide , by ~3 mm thick. (5-6 mm thickness where ash stripes)

Possible to buy with knife edge shuttle. (The length of the shuttle is ~24 cm).
